Last Science Night Out - February 28th
SAVE THE DATE: Last Science Night Out: February 28, 5:30-7pm
If you're interested in turtle conservation, you've already heard of Dr. Stephen Dunbar. If you haven't, you'll want to hear about his research immediately. And lucky for us, he's coming to PCY's Science Night Out on Thursday, February 28 to talk to us about his latest body of research: the *adorable* but endangered hawksbill and green turtles, and on what we can do to enhance and protect their dwindling populations.
Join us at 5:30pm for pizza and an activity, and at 6pm for what promises to be an engaging, enlightening talk that will captivate adults and children alike.
2019 LCUSD Maker Faire is Coming - March 15th
A School Maker Faire is a mini version of a Maker Faire, which is part science fair and part something completely different! Maker Faire is a gathering of individuals and teams who are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. All of these "makers" come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned. Everyone else comes to get some great ideas and to experience making, too! Our district wants to start the Maker Movement by:
showcasing the making already taking place on our campuses
connecting with larger creativity, innovation, STEAM, or art initiatives
cultivating awareness of the Maker movement
When: Friday, March 15, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where: La Cañada High School
