Dear PCY Family,

I hope you all are relaxing and relishing the long holiday weekend!

I hope you also enjoyed hearing about your little (or big) ones at the Parent-Teacher Conferences this past week. Thank you to our incredible teachers for all the extra time and energy you put into preparing the information for us parents. We are very fortunate to have you all!

It's that time: On Wednesday, the children will participate in the annual LCFEF Jog a Thon during their PE times. You are welcome to come cheer the students on as they run! Please remember to register the joggers at http://pledge.lcfef.org/2018. There are prizes for the top fundraisers, most laps run by school and grade level, and most registered joggers between the 3 elementary schools! Good luck to our runners and GO PCY!

Charleston Wrap pick up will be this Wednesday in the MPR. A big thank you to Sommer Cripps, Sharon Park, Sophia Kim and Nicole Rustigan for chairing this large fundraiser for us. You have done an exceptional job and we appreciate your time, energy and organization.

Our PTA General Meeting will also be this Wednesday at 8:15 in the MPR. Joe Radabaugh form the school board will be giving us an update on the fencing. We hope you will join us!

Lastly, Friday is a Collaboration Day with early dismissal at 11:35 am.

I hope you have a wonderful short week and look forward to seeing you around campus. --
Best,
Valerie Talbert

Founders Day Award Nominations Due November 13th
Our school community is an amazing place thanks to those who contribute in so many ways to make our children's lives better. Every year, at the Founders Day celebration, PTA recognizes individuals who have made an exceptional effort to improve our children's educational experiences. These honorees include teachers, school staff members, parents, and other volunteers.

We all know at least one parent or teacher who very much deserves this honor. Please take the time to nominate that special someone by visiting our website, pcypta.org, and filling out the Honorary Service Awards Nomination Form. You can either turn it in to the PCY office (basket marked "Founders Day") or email it to Jennifer Riegler at jenriegler@gmail.com or Susan Harlan susan_harlan@yahoo.com.

      ALF Drama Program
ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® OF FLINTRIDGE DRAMA PROGRAM
"where everyone can shine"

Attention students in grades 5 - 10.   Looking for something fun to do after school starting in January of the new year? Katelyn Fike, Assistance League of Flintridge (ALF) Drama Director, will prepare students for a performance of Disney's "James & the Giant Peach JR". The play is a delightfully offbeat adaption of the classic Roald Dahl adventure of a boy and his insect friends as they journey across the ocean. Young actors will love playing the outlandish and larger-than-life human and insect characters. This adventurous musical is about courage and self-discovery.   Rehearsals for the winter production begin on January 15 and take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:45 - 5:30 PM at both ALF and Lanterman Auditorium. The performance will be on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 7PM. Online registration is open. A fee of $275 is charged for participation in the program. For more information, visit the ALF website at alflintridge.org or contact the ALF Programs Office at 818-790-2211.
