Dear PCY Family,

Throughout the year, we have various opportunities to raise funds for our school. These funds go directly to benefit the children at PCY through added programs, classroom support, playground and campus upgrades. This week, our  Fall Fundraiser, Charleston Wrap continues. Orders are due by this Thursday, September 20th. Charleston Wrap carries fun wrapping paper, kitchen gadgets, magazines and gift items! Great for the upcoming holidays. Also, the Country Fair "Online Ordering" is opens TOMORROW. Our largest fundraiser that will be held Saturday, October 6th on the lower playground will be fun for all. On our pcypta.org page, you can order lunches, buy wristbands and become a sponsor!

We appreciate all of your support and are looking forward to a great week in Paradise!

Warmest Regards,
Valerie Talbert

Wrap-Up of Last Week's Science Night Out Talk
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Thursday night's Science Night Out! Sojin and Larry's pre-talk activity was great fun, and Mark gave an *outstanding* talk with lots of great slides and videos - the kids were deeply engaged and asked some terrific questions. We may have some budding cancer researchers at PCY! We are so, so lucky to have Mark, Sojiin and Larry as part of our PCY community and to have these great opportunities to expose our kids to "science in the real world." Mark your calendar for our other PCY STEAM events!
STEAM Field Trip on 9/30 - Spaces still available
STEAM Field Trip: Spaces Remain for The Science of Pottery on September 30, 9am-11:30am!

If you haven't signed up for our next STEAM Field Trip: The Chemistry of Pottery (during which we will sculpt big-mouthed monsters out of clay and paint a Frankenplate), don't delay - there are only a few spaces left! The kids will learn about clay, kilns and the firing process, and they will sculpt their own adorable big-mouthed monsters out of clay. They will also get to paint their own festive Frankenplate! (See the photos we posted on the PCY STEAM page on Facebook.) We'll get the creations back a few weeks later, in time for Halloween. The cost is $50 per participant - adult or child. Adults may choose to paint something other than a plate. Options will be available at the studio. Reserve your spot now by emailing nina.ries@gmail.com.
