Dear PCY Family,

Come one, Come all! Our largest Fundraiser of the year is THIS Saturday, October 7th starting at 9 am on the lower playground.  We will amp up the cougar pride with spirit week  this week culminating with the spirit rally Friday at 10:30 and Lunch with Your Child during their Friday lunch times. Parents are welcome to come to the spirit rally to join in the fun and see what teacher is guilty or innocent! See the timeline below for spirit day themes as well as important deadlines for the fair.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out the Party Book that is now open on
the pcypta.org homepage and sign up for a party, two or three! What a great way to FUNraise for our school and create memories within our wonderful community. Thank you to Katie McClure and Karen Clark for coordinating this!

Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers and teachers for your participation in this fun event! I look forward to a fun week with our fabulous school community!

Best,
Valerie Talbert

     Founders Day Nominations
Our school community is an amazing place thanks to those who contribute in so many ways to make our children's lives better. Every year, at the Founders Day celebration, PTA recognizes individuals who have made an exceptional effort to improve our children's educational experiences. These honorees include teachers, school staff members, parents, and other volunteers.

We all know at least one parent or teacher who very much deserves this honor. Please take the time to nominate that special someone by visiting our website, pcypta.org, and filling out the Honorary Service Awards Nomination Form. You can either turn it in to the PCY office (basket marked "Founders Day") or email it to: angela.marchetti@gmail.com
LCUSD Governing Board Candidates' Forum - October 2
The La Cañada Council PTA, along with the League of Women Voters - Pasadena Area, will be hosting a public forum for the five candidates running for the LCUSD Governing Board election. The event will be held at the La Cañada High School auditorium on Monday, October 2 at 7:00 pm. All interested members of the public are invited to attend. In addition to hearing prepared statements from the candidates, attendees will have the opportunity to submit written questions.

The League of Women Voters is dedicated to making democracy work by offering services to communities with the purpose of informing and encouraging voters to take advantage of their right to vote. As a non-partisan organization, the La Cañada Council PTA neither supports nor opposes candidates for public office. It does, however, aim to help disseminate as much factual, objective information as possible during election campaigns so that voters may make more informed choices on issues that affect our community's children and youth.

For more information about the Candidates' Forum, please contact Melissa Mazin, La Cañada Council PTA President, at: president@lacanadapta.org.
