Dear PCY Family,

What a truly phenomenal Weekend!

I loved seeing our community come together and enjoy a fabulous event on Saturday at the Fair. Seeing the children running around giggling, playing games, and putting others in jail along with the parents getting into the bidding for auction items, catching up with friends and volunteering their time was priceless!

I want to extend a HUGE Thank You to everyone who made our Country Fair so very successful. The Fair Chairs: Danni Remender, Natascha Gundersen, and Gloria Cannon went above and beyond and truly knocked it out of the park! Your time, organization and creativity allowed this to be a magnificent, smooth day. I also want to thank all of our parent volunteers, staff, Javier, and student volunteers - without your help, we truly could not have pulled this event off. Many of you contributed hours upon hours and we are grateful. Lastly, our Sponsors - we very much appreciate your generous sponsorships. Thank you very much for supporting our school! This was a team effort lead by wonderful leaders and a truly spectacular event. Thank you all for your support!

Please join us for our PTA meeting this Wednesday, October 10th in the library at 8:15! We will have a CPR trainer talking about the most common childhood emergencies and a crash training course in how to handle them effectively. Hope to see you there.

Have a wonderful week!
Best,

Valerie Talbert

Lego Class (K-2) Sign Up Starts Monday, 10/8!
LEGOS! In this class, students will have ample opportunity to build from kits based on instructions, and creations using their imaginations. We will start with static builds and will work our way to builds with moveable parts. Lego Building offers additional practice and preparation for students interested in Lego Robotics. Parents of enrolled students will be required to volunteer for at least one class session during the year. Please send a light snack for your child to eat before class so s/he doesn't become "hangry." Children will get to take home some Legos to keep at the end of the year.

Cost: $100
Sign-ups begin Monday morning on the PCY PTA website and are first come, first served!
Open Robotics Night: THIS Thursday, October 11, 5:30pm-7:30pm
October means another Open Robotics Night! Mark your calendar for Thursday night, October 11, and let your kids build and code to their heart's delight. Our volunteer robotics instructors will be on hand for extra help (not that your kids will need it). As usual, we will have pizza at 5:30, and building and coding until 7:30pm. The event is free and no RSVP is required. See you there!
    Founders Day Awards
Our school community is an amazing place thanks to those who contribute in so many ways to make our children's lives better. Every year, at the Founders Day celebration, PTA recognizes individuals who have made an exceptional effort to improve our children's educational experiences. These honorees include teachers, school staff members, parents, and other volunteers.

We all know at least one parent or teacher who very much deserves this honor. Please take the time to nominate that special someone by visiting our website, pcypta.org, and filling out the Honorary Service Awards Nomination Form. You can either turn it in to the PCY office (basket marked "Founders Day") or email it to Jennifer Riegler at jenriegler@gmail.com or Susan Harlan susan_harlan@yahoo.com.
