Dear PCY Family,
Thank you to all who attended the gala Saturday supporting LCFEF. A big thank you to Caroline Anderson and Holly Biondo who did an incredible job coordinating the event and our very own Sunyoung Fahimi who coordinated the silent auction. Our schools are very lucky to have you!

This week we welcome Denise Pope, co-founder of Challenge Success to La Canada. She will be speaking on Monday at 6:30 at the LCHS auditorium about various student wellness and Challenge success aspects.

Come one, come all and see our many talented PCY families at our annual variety show this Friday, March 9th at 3:00 pm in the MPR! It will be a fun afternoon!

Have a wonderful week!

Sheridan Sanders

It is hard to think of a volunteer job at PCY that Sheridan Sanders has NOT done.  For several years in a row, she has volunteered as a Room Rep, Library volunteer, Cake Walk chair at the Country Fair, Book Fair chair, Box Tops chair, Lost & Found chair (including laundering!), and Bulletin Boards.  In addition, Sheridan has served three years as the La Canada Girl Scouts Service Unit Cookie Chair and has chaired the PCY Cub Scouts Pack 519 Popcorn Fundraiser.
Sheridan is married to Mark Sanders and has two children at PCY.  She enjoys walking, reading and traveling to new places in the U.S., as well as visiting home in Australia.

Jenni Swanson

This is Jenni Swanson's last year at PCY, and she will be truly missed.  In addition to helping out in many classroom volunteer roles and chaperoning countless field trips, Jenni has volunteered for PCY Spirit Wear, Bulletin Boards, Spirit Rally (sound system & beach balls), Room Rep, Teacher Appreciation Week, and 6th Grade Play.  PCY has benefited multiple times from her creative talents, most recently with her handmade props for "Willy Wonka, Jr."
Jenni and her husband Mike have two boys, 8th grade and 6th grade.  She loves crafting and spending time with her family and pets.

Dr. Denise Pope is coming to LCUSD - March 5th
Dr. Denise Pope, co-founder of Challenge Success, will be coming to speak to students, parents, and staff about many aspects of Challenge Success and student wellness. If you have not had an opportunity to hear Dr. Pope speak, she is incredible.  Her vision of student wellness and ideas for schools, families, and students help put many of the topics we speak about on the forefront.  She provides excellent strategies for students, parents, and schools to help promote, encourage and support student wellness.

This is a unique opportunity for parents to hear firsthand about the Challenge Success program and the work our district continues to engage in to support and promote healthy, well-balanced students.
